What did you see,
Martin,
on that balcony
when they took your life?
Did an angel
come to take you
up to Heaven?
Or was it just
darkness?
They say Sinai
was shrouded in smoke
when Moses ascended.
Were you
shrouded in light?
Your commandments were
far better and worthier
of a sweet chariot
to carry you Home.
Those of us left
to wonder are wandering
in a wilderness
of doubt.
